Sources Of Energy

[simpleaffiliate source="chitika" results="0"][/simpleaffiliate]
sources of energy

Physics - Alternative Sources of Energy

- limited sources of energy (fossil fuels, nuclear fuel), which can be mined but not produced;

- renewable sources of energy (wind, water sources, biomass), which can be partially or entirely damaged by construction (wind, water sources) or by destroying fauna (biomass);

- practically unlimited sources of energy (the sun, the earth's heat, the rising and dropping of tides), whose intensity cannot be influenced.

Mostly fossil fuels have been used from the start of the industrial era. Based on various studies, which differ based on the assumption of a stagnating, declining or increasing world consumption of energy, fossil fuels should run out within 40 to 200 years. With this in mind and while considering that the use of such conventional or atomic fuels poses a risk for both mankind and nature, these sources of energy should be gradually replaced with alternative sources which, contrary to conventional sources of energy, should not harm nature. If so, then only minimally.

Alternative power plants presently generate around 3% of energy produced on the planet. According to realistic estimations though, its share should increase to as high as 50%.

In the future, the sun should become the most important provider of energy because it is an inexhaustible and ecological source which can be used both directly and indirectly.

Solar collectors enable the direct use of solar energy. These collectors absorb energy from the sun's rays and apply it through heating processes. The sun's energy can also warm glass or liquids which, in turn, either accumulate or divide the obtained energy. For example, water may be heated in this manner.

Sunlight can also be converted into electrical energy without the need to use mechanical or intermediary parts. Solar cells, which are made of two closely connected layers of semiconductors, of which one is magnetically positively rectified and the other negatively, can be used for this purpose. When sunlight falls on these cells, electrons between both of these layers (surfaces) are influenced by and accumulate with the help of metal electrodes. Electrical current then results due to the movement of electrons.

The sun's energy, as it falls onto the earth, is also absorbed by the earth's surface and converted into heat, which is then used by mankind (this is an indirect use of the sun's energy). With indirect heating using the sun's energy, the position of a building, its type of construction, the arrangement of the space within it and the construction material used play an important role. Structures made out of glass, like glass winter gardens, have proven very effective and capable of being heated very quickly, with heat gained by this method diverted to adjoining rooms.

One of the other affects of the sun is the creation of winds, which have been used for several centuries to drive windmills and propel ships. Modern machinery generating wind energy use the wind's force to generate electrical current. The sun's energy also maintains the earth's water currents, which is important if we want to take advantage of the forces of water. Through photosynthesis, plants can use the sun's energy to be converted into biomass, which, in turn, can be used as fuel.

Top Three Reasons Solar Energy Is Going to Help Countries Go Green

People are talking about it almost every day and the media is just flooded with continual news of Energy related topics. To be honest, some of the going green ideas are a little far fetched and some that are just downright bizarre.

People need to keep in mind that the Government may be helping to give incentives the whole going green trend and so there is some money being spent on some really abstract ideas. I would just like to point out that results are what is going to bring demand, not just new Green products. For this reason I think Sun gathered Electricity is going to one of the key ingredients to help other countries go green.

Top Three Reason Solar Energy is Going to Help Countries Go Green

1. Solar Energy is continuing to advance in technology and efficiency. The government is spending big bucks to discover new methods of green energy and solar energy is a great beneficiary. A funny thing to note about advances in solar energy possible the biggest discovery recently was mad by a kid in a school science project. The basic thing to see here is that as good a solar power already is, expect it to get better.

2. Electricity from Solar source is not only in panels but now shingles too. Dow Industries just unveiled its new solar shingles that are supposedly easy to install and great for home energy efficiency. It may not sound big to many, but some estimates show that over $5 billion of these Solar shingles will be sold by the year 2015

3. Solar Energy is available anywhere there is sunlight. Most traditional types of electricity generation require huge infrastructures and miles of wires to deliver the electricity to the users. This is not so with solar energy. This is huge news for the remote areas of the world in Africa or the Amazon. New Villages are now experiencing electricity for the first time thanks to solar panels.

Where To Buy Solar Panel

[simpleaffiliate source="chitika" results="0"][/simpleaffiliate]
where to buy solar panel

Things To Consider When Buying Solar Panels

Why are we thinking about solar power?   Because we are tired of paying high and higher prices for our bulging electric and gas bills.  Right now is the time to make a change.  As we speak the sun is beaming down on your home, it's roof, your yard, concrete and the energy is either absorbed or bounced back into the atmosphere.  What a Waste.  Now ins the time to consider the benefits of a solar panel electrical system for your home or business.  Consider these facts to help you make an intelligent decision.

7 Things To Consider When Buying Solar Panels

  1. Your Electrical Needs

The most important thing to do first is to calculate your prior months usage figures over the last 2 years.  This will take in both summer and winter usage.  You then need to decide what percentage of your home electrical appliances are you going to power with solar panels.  If you decide to power all, then your last two years of your power bills come into play.  You must calculate the amount of kilowatts used on an average month over the two year period and also calculate your highest amounts used during peak months during this same period.  The peak usage months are the key.  You will want to have a solar system that will be able to handle your peak load and then add more power or wattage to your system so it will not be strained and it will have enough power if you add appliances to your home in the future.

If you only want to power certain items of you home that use a lot of power, then you must make a list of the wattage rating supplied for each appliance you plan to put on the solar system.  Add up all of the amounts of these appliances and  Presto, you have a good idea about the electricity you are consuming monthly with these.  Then you figure a little higher output as the full system to power this configuration.  Keeping both of these ideas in mind will ensure you  will  have enough power from whatever solar system you purchase.

 2.    What is Your Backup  Source

If you are planning to use your solar system to completely power your home day and night without using the electrical grid, then you have to install some sort of backup    system.  On rainy, cloudy days and long nights, you will need good batteries for storing excess power that you generate on bright days.  There  many different batteries available in this market and they come in all different sizes, ratings and life spans.  Check with the solar companies to get their recommendations for your type of system.  This is very important.

  1. Types of Panels and Mounting  Systems

The most important of all is to buy from a known national company that is sanctioned here in  the U>S> that the government sponsors.  Check on it's financial strength.  You want this company to be around to backup its warranty claims.  The first type of solar panel that is used is the PV or mono-crystalline panel.  These have the best or higher efficiency ratings at the moment and are ideal if you have a limited roof or yard area to work with.Thin film or amorphous silicom panels have a better look to them and are good on larger, more visible roof areas.

  1.   Mounting  Systems

Whether your system is ground mounted or roof mounted, be sure

To check that all of the mounts, brackets, arms, holders, posts, screws, etc. are either stainless steel or aluminum so that weathering will not be a problem.  You want as heavier a guage of

Mounting hardware as practical for locations and weight.   See a

Spec sheet and compare the different brands to find this out.

  1.   Location,  Location

The main goal of solar panes is to have the maximum amount of light exposure for the longest part of the day.  Roof top mounted panel locations must be studied carefully to help find the optimum position.  A solar specialist can help.

  1.    Warranties

This is again associated to a reputable and recognized manufacturer.  It is typical for a warranty to be good for 20 to 25 years.  Always ask a dealer for a copy of the manufacturers warranty policy.  Find out who is actually providing the warranty and who will take care of any problems that arise.

  1.    Rebates or Tax Credits

The government offers huge tax incentives for those people who prefer to use solar energy, including thousands of dollars in tax credits and other discounts.  States also have some type of incentives and these vary from state to state.

In conclusion,  solar panels offer many benefits to us as homeowners and also to the environment especially.  Because of the cost of these systems, both the financial and the green benefits need to be considered when making this decision.

Introduction to Alternative Sources of Energy - Secrets of Alternative Energy Revealed

The concept of using alternative sources of energy is one which is becoming more popular around the world. It can be utilised even at home where it can result in lowering your energy bills over time. So this is a short introduction to alternative sources of energy. I also learned to build my own solar panels DIY cheaply using a guide that I will share more about with you.

The two you are most likely to choose from are wind and solar power. You can usually go to a hardware store and get some information on how to install them and indeed in some you can buy the parts. The wind power variety is perhaps the most common.

With the solar power people are more familiar with the concept of having solar panels on the roof of your house. These panels then took the natural light and converted them into energy and could work to a certain level even when it was not a sunny day.

In order to take advantage of the wind you need a special turbine installed somewhere on your property. You are able to buy them in different sizes so they can fit in different situations but more often than not they are situated in the corner of a garden. Obviously they utilize the natural wind which turns the windmill and electricity is therefore generated. This is then sent into the house.

Installing the wind power solution is quite often a lot easier than the solar power but both normally require the help of a company to came and do the installation. If you try to do it yourself you really need to be an electrician and understand electricity.

It can cost a fair amount of money to get either of these installed but of course it can vary depending on the size of the turbine or panels. The actual installation can be responsible for a reasonable part of the overall sum but consider how you can earn it back with generating your own electricity.

So to sum it up the two most popular sources if alternative energy in the home is solar and wind power. It is up to your own preferences as to which one you get although where you live can affect your decision. But just always keep in mind the money you shall save in the long term. I have personally managed to build my own home DIY solar panel system simply following a DIY guide online.

Define Green Energy

[simpleaffiliate source="chitika" results="0"][/simpleaffiliate]
define green energy

Green Building Movement

Although the history of environmentally responsive design is centuries old, the term "green building" (also called "sustainable design building" or "high-performance building") is relatively new. The goal is to design buildings that meet performance objectives for land use, transportation, energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality, and other factors. Statements describing green objectives vary.

The Office of the Federal Environmental Executive, for example, defines green building as "the practice of (1) increasing the efficiency with which buildings and their sites use energy, water, and materials, and (2) reducing building impacts on human health and the environment, through better siting, design, construction, operation, maintenance, and removal the complete building life cycle".

An Urban Land Institute publication defines "sustainable" as designing projects and buildings in ways that: " Conserve energy and natural resources and protect air and water quality by minimizing the consumption of land, the use of other nonrenewable resources, and the production of waste, toxic emissions, and pollution; " Make cost-effective use of existing and renewable resources such as infrastructure systems, underused sites, and historic neighbor-hoods and structures; " Contribute to community identity, livability, social interaction, and sense of place; " Widen access to jobs, affordable housing, transportation choices, and recreational facilities; " Expand diversity, synergism, and use of renewable resources in the operation and output of the local economy.

To enable building owners and design teams to evaluate the energy and environmental performance of their buildings, a voluntary system for rating green buildings has been developed for new construction by an expert-intensive process of the U.S. Green Building Council (USG BC). The USGBC's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system awards credits for designing to advance sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality, and materials selection. Buildings are rated as "certified," "silver," "gold," or "platinum," depending on the total number of credits received. To receive LEED certification a building must first comply with the most up-to-date national standards. Credits can also be earned for innovative designs. The first version of LEED was issued in 1998 and has since been revised several times (the most recent version is LEED 2.2).

The revisions have involved hundreds of environmental professionals and industries engaged in defining energy and environmental sustainability for a range of building types, for commercial interiors (LEED-CI), for existing buildings (LEED-EB), for commercial construction and major renovation projects (LEED-NC), and for neighborhood development (LEED-ND). Learning things is not limited to the scentific area. Instead it also has relations with some other things like speaking a language or using software, including Rosetta Stone English and Rosetta Stone French. If you have a creative mind, you will make all your own differences in the end!

information about green energy

Top Green Energy Jobs

Environmentally friendly practices and cleaner energy have become important subjects in recent years. That's led to an increase in all kinds of jobs in the environmental sector. Wind, solar, and other alternative power projects are growing fast, creating a need for workers in those fields. Which green energy jobs are likely to be the best in coming years? Let's take a look at a few of the options. One of those jobs might be the right one for you!

Solar Power Installation
Currently, the production and installation of solar power employs nearly eight hundred thousand people across the globe. This job pays relatively well, with rates ranging between fifteen and thirty-five USD per hour, and there are opportunities available wherever the sun is shining. In the US, around three thousand companies in the solar energy sector are responsible for about thirty-five thousand jobs, with a predicted increase to over a hundred thousand jobs by 2016. Companies which may be hiring include Sungevity, Sunpower, and Akeena Solar.

Energy Efficient Construction
Buildings in the US are responsible for nearly half of the energy this country uses, as well as about the same amount of greenhouse emissions. Currently, LEED, the major certifier of green buildings, employs over forty-three thousand accredited workers. Skilled engineers and architects, as well as a workforce of trained retrofitting specialists, will be required to improve the energy efficiency of the homes in the US.

Wind Turbine Construction
Wind is the fastest growing alternative energy sector, currently supplying about three hundred thousand Green energy jobs worldwide and about fifty thousand US workers. At least ten thousand new jobs in the wind turbine fabrication sector are expected to be created per year, according to the American Wind Energy Association. Their site features a helpful job board for anyone looking for a great opportunity.

Wind Turbine Installation and Maintenance
There's more to wind power than just building turbines, too. Those turbines need to be installed on wind farms, creating jobs for professionals who understand the way wind energy works. They also need to be maintained. While wind turbines are relatively low maintenance, they do still need to be adjusted and repaired. This field should employ an additional high quantity of workers over the next few years, especially in Texas, California, Western New York and other windy states.

Environmental Lawyer
With increasing concern about the environmental effects of industry and building, and improving regulations in these areas, companies need good legal advice. Environmental lawyers are specialists with knowledge of environmental law and regulations. They're employed by all kinds of organizations to help them find the right environmentally solutions to their business and practical problems.

Green Project Manager
A successful green project requires good management. Leaving wind, solar, and building projects to conventionally trained managers could be a recipe for disaster. After all, this type of project requires a lot of specialized knowledge. Management professionals with knowledge of the wind, solar, and other green industries could be looking at a great opportunity in the years to come.

Information Technology Specialists
It might seem a little unusual, but the IT field offers a number of Green energy jobs. Information technology specialists with a knowledge of energy efficient work practices are incredibly useful to large companies and organizations hoping to cut their carbon footprints. These workers help show organizations how to use their computing power more efficiently, spend less money, and pollute less, too.

Green energy jobs are an excellent choice for anyone who cares about the environment, wants to make a difference, and is interested in this growing field. Almost every discipline has jobs relating to green energy, so there's a good chance there's one for you.

how to generate free electricity

He knew the spiritual as well as the mind changing messages hidden in his words would be found and accepted by the five pc of humanity that has an interest in truth with an a capital T. He has indeed succeeded. His most powerful mind opening concept is that of the Structural Differential. He also gave mankind the idea of "Time Binding." He was one of the first great thinkers to understand that all of man's Problems start at the colloidal level of existence. And so the majority of these Problems stem from words, the misuse of words, taken out of idea.

It is the start of all knowledge. It is the way in which the mind of the Creator God works. There is nothing "Higher" than this and without it as a start line, there can be nothing created below it. Why do the varsities leave the Creator God out of their curriculum's? The next ellipse down, connected by a string to the Creator God Ellipse, is the Ellipse of the Universe. Next ellipse down, connected by a string to the Universe is the ellipse of all of the universes in the Universe, billions of them.

Let us take the example of the Universe and it's ladder of creation. There are seven steps or 7 levels to the ladder of creation. Picture in your mind seven ellipses, one on top, with six other descending ellipses. They're connected by strings between each one. The highest ellipse and all models of the Structural Differential are started this way, is the ellipse of the Creator God.

A delicate layer of organic life fighting for knowledge and understanding in this remote part of the universe. Construct this model and study it. The model of Lord Alfred's Structural Differential will expand your thoughts. Try to build your own mental Structural Differentials using Math, religion, Art or what ever else. It'll open your eyes to the world of wisdom.

His masterful book "Science and Sanity," was blocked from being taught in the american Universities until just lately. It pointed out lots of the short comings and risks of varsity and scientific thinking. General Semantics as it is taught today, is a watered down version of the truths that were presented to us by this great thinker. Both Vitvan and I.F, my non secular teachers studied with Lord Alfred. Lord Alfred himself asserted that he wrote this book in such a way, so that it might sometime be accepted by the entrenched establishment.

Next ellipse down is our particular galaxy, the Milky Way. The following ellipse down is all of the Solar Systems in our galaxy. Next our Solar System. And then the last ellipse in the string of ellipses, the 7th one, is the planet Earth. Look at how far down the ladder of creation we are.

He also knew that they who control "the words," control the world . Look round you. His structural differential is a pattern or a model that explains the 7 divisions of abstraction of all of creation. It can be applied to each thing we all know. It can be applied to arithmetic, religion, art, music, literature and so on.

Green Mountain Energy Customer Service

[simpleaffiliate source="chitika" results="0"][/simpleaffiliate]
green mountain energy customer service
Has anyone used Stream Energy in Texas?

I am currently using Green Mountain Energy Company, but their customer service is crap and they have lied to me about several different things. So, I am searching for a new company and a couple of people I know use Stream Energy and like it, but I'd like to know if any of you have used it aswell and what you think of the company. Thanks!

why would you even consider such things?? Your power company owns the lines to your home, anyone else you buy from still has to pay your local power company to get power to you. So both companies get a profit from delivering power to you.

Stick with the horse that brought you to the Derby.

Green Mountain Energy Dallas

[simpleaffiliate source="chitika" results="0"][/simpleaffiliate]
green mountain energy dallas
Which electric company should I choose?

I'm moving to Dallas soon and trying to figure out which electric company to choose for my studio apartment. Between these three companies, which would you recommend:
Gexa Energy, Direct Energy or Green Mountain?

I plan to get a fixed rate 12month contract for 100% renewable energy (yay wind!) and these companies all have a similar rate (12cents) for this. I've been reading horror stories about electric companies increasing rates and slapping on hidden fees.. What has your experience been with these companies?

Thanks!

You can compare them at the website below.
Believe it or not, I have had OK experience with TXU.

Forms Of Energy

[simpleaffiliate source="chitika" results="0"][/simpleaffiliate]
forms of energy
can all known forms of energy be reduced to the four known forces?

For instance, can heat energy be reduced to electromagnetic energy in some cases, to nuclear energy in others? Can kinetic energy be reduced to electrical energy in some cases, or gravity in others? Since mechanics is the study of matter under the influence of forces, it seems to me that this is true. Thanks.

In some forced, probably not meaningful sense, perhaps. Heat is a measure of kinetic energy, not directly related to nuclear fission or fusion. Kinetic energy is unrelated to any force. Potential energy is directly related to the position of objects relative to a force field. But how do you reckon the energy equivalence of matter in E=mc²?

Green Energy Comparison

Green Energy in the Developing World

In the United States, we are becoming increasingly more aware of the effects of fossil fuels on global warming. The biggest challenge we face is finding a way to incorporate clean, green, renewable energy into the system that is already in place. Many people use to feel that if option X worked, there was no reason to try option Y or option Z. From an evolutionary standpoint this makes sense because option X is a proven method that yields a successful, desirable outcome. The unknown variables of option Y or option Z could yield unsuccessful results or undesirable outcome. In early times these variables were applied to extreme circumstances and survival. This is no longer the case.

EnviroCitizen.org would like to point out that while it is easy to stick with option X (i.e. the use of fossil fuels) because the infrastructure is already set into place, it is not the best choice. Option Y (green, renewable energy like solar or wind) is a bit of a wild card in the sense that we do not know all of the possibilities this option would provide us with. Also, it is difficult to combine the two options, meaning that incorporating clean, renewable energy into an already existing system poses many challenges. However, we must step up to the plate and try for the sake of our Earth!

Countries in the developing world have a unique advantage over the United States and other developed countries. In the developing world, the infrastructure for fossil fuel energy is either non-existent or partially sufficient at best. So, when incorporating green, renewable energy in the developing world, there is no option X to combine option Y with. There is no existing infrastructure to prevent green, renewable energy from being a successful source of energy and the transition will be far less complicated. For example, Kenya is the world leader in the number of solar power systems installed per capita. Kenya boasts more than 30,000 small solar panels sold annually!

Creating green, renewable energy in the developing world makes a lot of sense. Developing countries account for about eighty percent of the global population, but they only consume about thirty percent of global commercial energy. As these countries develop, there will be a greater demand for energy. The United States, in comparison, has only five percent of the world's population but uses about twenty-five percent of global, commercial energy. Imagine if people in the developing world consumed as much energy as Americans! It is critical that both the developed and developing worlds go for option Y or green, renewable energy. Regardless of the challenges we may face or the initial investments we must make, EnviroCitizen.org believes that we have to face this situation as an investment into our future and the future of generations to come. We must do whatever we can to preserve and maintain the health of our home planet, Earth.

School Science Projects On Green Energy

Renewable Energy Education Using Only Lego's

It's in the newspapers, on our television screens and talked about on the radio, there is a real and increasingly desperate need for new renewable energy sources to replace fossil fuels and other highly polluting forms of power. We may not see a successful and efficient solution in our life time, but our children or their children have a good chance at developing the right technologies.

We can constantly nag and remind all of our employee's to start recycling or to switch from paper to digital forms; it may or may not get through to them. Though, there is definitely much stronger support for the green movement now then ever before and it is bringing visible change to the way large corporations like ours do business and how products are being manufactured. But to make some real change that will affect massive change we need to focus on educating our children  from a young age, so that by the time they reach their 20's the need to save our planet and live in closer sync with the environment becomes second nature.

Lego has come up with a great new product that uses Lego Building Sets combined with a renewable energy add-on set they will be able to investigate 3 types of energy sources; wind, water and solar energy. These kits have been designed to aid science teachers by giving their lessons a bit of a fun edge, but they will also be available to the general public with the goal of educating our youth.

Their has been great success in capturing childrens attention when using Lego to teach.  Lego is hopeful that they will be able to continue this line of education by producing useful tools and techniques designed of Lego.  Projects like this can be done at home as well or even used in Home-School teaching.  If you are intersted in this new line of technology please feel free to contact bricksandfigs customer service for more information.

Global Surge in Green Energy Investment

<!-- @page { margin: 2cm } P { margin-bottom: 0.21cm } -->

Reports released in July by the United Nations Environment Programme and the Renewable Energy Policy Network for the 21st Century (REN21), have revealed that global investment in the green energy sector has witnessed a significant boost. However, this information has been somewhat marred following the release of a Bloomberg report indicating that the fossil fuel industry enjoys a far greater share of government subsidies in comparison with the renewable energy sectors.

The twin reports from the UN and the REN21 conclude that in 2009, renewables accounted for 60% of newly installed energy resources in Europe, with the figure for the USA sitting at 50%. In addition, new private and public sector investments in new renewables and biofuels rose by 53% in China last year, with the country adding 37 GW of renewable power capacity.

This dramatic increase in China's renewable energy capacity coincides with the news that they have overtaken the US in terms of energy consumption. Over the past decade, China's use of coal, oil, wind and other power sources have more than doubled.

This trend bucking also featured in the UN and REN21 reports, with suggestions that total investment in renewables increased in 2009. Although investment in new renewables, biofuel and energy efficiency decreased by 7%, there was record investment in wind power. In the USA, the American wind power industry added 39% greater capacity, with almost 2% of the country's electricity being derived from wind turbines.

Although the global investment figures appear to have risen in terms of the increased renewable energy capacities of many countries, a report compiled by analysts Bloomberg provides a damning overview of government commitments to the development of the renewable energy sector.

The report concluded that in 2009 governments provided $43 and $46 billion worth of global subsidies to the renewable energy and biofuel industries. This was dwarfed by the $557 billion allocated to the fossil fuel industry the previous year.

It is believed that the lack of funding for renewables from investors is due to a visible lack of direct government funding. However, it seems that more subsidy schemes are appearing in various countries with the aim of providing the support needed for the continued development of green energy alternatives.

In the UK and in Germany for instance, a feed-in tariff offers financial incentives for those willing to employ small wind turbines as a means of powering their house or small business. Such subsidiary schemes are a significant factor if the G20 countries are to fulfill their pledge to phase out fossil fuel subsidies.
