Will defiant fossil fuel proponents give Green Energy kudos NOW?
HOW ABOUT THOSE GAS PRICES!!!!! They will go up and up and up!!! How long will people be ignorant to hydrogen ion cars? In the meantime hybrids and electric cars will carry the smart people to better savings and cleaner earth. At the same time, trophy wives and their SUVs will rumble and guzzle through the streets killing the very kids they drive from soccer and martial arts.
How about this, ethanol has to be farmed fermented and distilled. Once that has occurred one gallon of ethanol produces 66% of the power one gallon of gasoline can produce. In the same compatible engine 100 horsepower becomes 66 horsepower. 34% less efficient. It takes a solar farm the size of the state of Iowa to produce the same amount of electricity that is produced by one nuclear plant. There are seven reactors where I live. Not room for seven solar farms the size of Iowa. By the way hydrogen doesn't produce as well as ethanol. Internal combustion engines should be redesigned to burn ethanol. Here is why. Ethanol is now the catalyst use to slow the burn rate of gasoline in order to make it suitable for burning in high compression engines. It prevents pinging/preignition. If it can do that it has to burn much slower than gasoline in order to replace lead as a burn rate catalyst. Ninety-three octane gasoline (supreme) contains 10% ethanol. So much slower as to need a longer piston stroke in order to burn ethanol up just before what is called bottom dead center. If you were a better than average college student you might come up with some green energy source with realistic characteristics that can be mass produced at an affordable price. So far no one has done it. I wonder why that is. What I can say is dreams are tougher to make work than is reality.
