oil vs. solar energy pros and cons?
i need to know how these two effect the environment how they can be used for humans ie heating homes Fuel for vehicles ect what makes solar more environmentally friendly and how the human uses of these impact the environment and if you have pictures that will help thank you so much for your help!!!!
In Green Building practice oil, coal, gas are categorized as fossil and non renewable energy.
oil------------------------------------------- solar
Non renewable
Will burn into harmful gas -----------------No side effect
Limited Source ------------------------------ Abundant supply
Extraction & transport is costly -----------No Issue here
Lot of product choices available--------------Still developing.
Just for example if we take cars. There are very few efficient battery power cars in the market.Public demand can be the reason. The technology is still developing. We dont have public car charging stations near offices or malls like we have gas stations. But still are efforts being taken like some malls or offices are providing designated parking spaces for such cars and giving extra travel allowance for such car users.
With oil the extraction, refinement, and then transportation is very costly. Oil can not be made locally. ( offcourse everyone knows that) so we burn so much fuel to transport fuel.. thats crazy.
Solar use will help reduce heat island effect also, which is one of the major causes of Global warming.
