Renewable Energy Education Using Only Lego's

It's in the newspapers, on our television screens and talked about on the radio, there is a real and increasingly desperate need for new renewable energy sources to replace fossil fuels and other highly polluting forms of power. We may not see a successful and efficient solution in our life time, but our children or their children have a good chance at developing the right technologies.

We can constantly nag and remind all of our employee's to start recycling or to switch from paper to digital forms; it may or may not get through to them. Though, there is definitely much stronger support for the green movement now then ever before and it is bringing visible change to the way large corporations like ours do business and how products are being manufactured. But to make some real change that will affect massive change we need to focus on educating our children  from a young age, so that by the time they reach their 20's the need to save our planet and live in closer sync with the environment becomes second nature.

Lego has come up with a great new product that uses Lego Building Sets combined with a renewable energy add-on set they will be able to investigate 3 types of energy sources; wind, water and solar energy. These kits have been designed to aid science teachers by giving their lessons a bit of a fun edge, but they will also be available to the general public with the goal of educating our youth.

Their has been great success in capturing childrens attention when using Lego to teach.  Lego is hopeful that they will be able to continue this line of education by producing useful tools and techniques designed of Lego.  Projects like this can be done at home as well or even used in Home-School teaching.  If you are intersted in this new line of technology please feel free to contact bricksandfigs customer service for more information.
