how is heat energy trapped ina green house?
A greenhouse is made using glass that easily transmits visible light but does not transmit infrared light. So sunlight comes into the greenhose and warms the soil, air, plants, etc. The warmed matter re-radiates some of this energy as infrared radition. The glass reflects that light back into the greenhouse. Since the energy can't escape, the greenhouse's temperature rises - basically that infrared energy is reabsorbed by the matter (air, soil, etc) and all the molecules move a little faster (which is basically the definition of heat).
