Solar Heat Panels: An Alternative Heating Solution

The primary heat energy provider for the Earth is the sun. It mediates the temperature and controls the water cycle of our planet and provides the existence of life.

The heat and light we need is insufficient during the night and winter seasons and people have to use fuels as an alternate heat energy. Wood and fossil fuels are the most common alternate heat source and the abuse of these sources are causing global warming which in turn cause climate changes. Scientists are creating a eco-friendly solution to combat the damage that these fuels have caused. One such solution is the use of solar heat panels which harnesses the sun's energy providing heat and light during the winter.

To make the energy useful, the heat energy harnessed from the sun needs to be stored and used when needed. The two aspects of solar panels is that they generate heat and store the heat energy.

The black metal plates inside the solar panel's box absorbs the sun's energy. The panels are placed on rooftops facing the sun and the sun's radiation heats the liquid tubing in the collector. Antifreeze chemicals, air and water are the usual liquids in the tubing and can heat up to 180 degrees Fahrenheit.

The panels heat that has been stored provides light and warmth during the winter months when fossil fuel costs are higher and unaffordable.

The damage that is being done to the Earth with the use of fossil fuels daily will have a continued effect to future generations unless something is done. If solar panels were used world-wide and fossil fuel use brought to a substantial crawl, our planet could be potentially saved from further harm.
