photovoltaic thermal panels
solar power question?

its a dum one lol.

what is the catagory called when you use solar panels for enegery for the city?(its for school) hope someone know's thx!!

ex':-Photovoltaic
-Solar Power Plants
-SOLAR THERMAL HEAT
-SOLAR THERMAL POWER PLANTS
-SOLAR ENERGY AND THE ENVIRONMENT

I would say the best fit would be -SOLAR THERMAL POWER PLANTS, the panels would consist of a highly reflective surface.

You can see a photo of one @

A solar thermal power plant indirectly makes steam from focused solar energy which turns an electric generator.

Photovoltaic do produce an electric current but because of the area needed to have an impact on a city's electric grid they are better suited for individual buildings.
