Obama's tire inflation?

I know this is a couple of days old, but why was is tire inflation seen as the Obama energy plan. Tire inflation plays pretty much the same role in the Obama plan as the McCain plan (which is not very much, the candidates simply suggested you do it). There are obviously other parts to Obamas plan such as investing in green energy, and giving tax credits for purchasing energy efficent vehicals. Does anyone actually believe that tire inflation is Obama's only energy plan, or that his position on tire inflation is any different from McCain's?

The Republicans don't have a good energy program. They've been in power as the price of fuel has gone up. Worse, it has gone up because of Republican energy policies,and Republican foreign policies.

So, as soon as they can find anything they think they can use to make Obama look foolish, they pounce, and occasionally find something that sticks for a week or so.
