Green Energy Certification

I am looking to go back to school, and I'm interested in trying to get a green degree. Where can I get info?

In my area, not many people are doing much to make their lives greener besides the occasional CF bulb, or recycling paper and aluminum. What I would like to do is help people take steps to green their homes and businesses. Things from using sustainable materials in remodeling, to helping them choose energy efficient lighting, to helping them determine if solar panels or wind turbines would be best for their location. I was thinking about even starting with a general contracting degree, then taking some courses or seminars to get any green certifications. Does anyone know of any websites or companies that I could contact to get more information? Or should I be looking at other types of degree programs?

I have friends studying environmental engineering and another friend minoring in sustainability (not sure if there is a school where that is a major). You might be able to (depending on the school) go in undecided and create a major to suit your interests with the help of an advisor.
