My puppy was born with a docked tail?
She came out with a short stubby tail, her momma was a pit, we didn't know what the sire was, we have always assumed it was a jack russel terrier, the bitch was kept in a fenced in back yard and i know jacks are climbers, but just learned that they are not born with docked tails. She is small for a pit bull only about knee high (her head is) she is very slender, and FAST, she runs like crazy, has lots of energy and she has these facial expressions that remind me of a jack russel. her coat is pure pit though, thin smooth and shiny, and she has green eyes. does anyone know what the daddy couldve been?
lol, well albeit the owner may have been irresponsible and okay, its a bobbed tail...does anyone know what breed of dog has bobbed tails...? that is my question! anyway some of the other pups in the litter had bobbed tails and some had normal tails.
No dog is born with a docked tail. Docking is a medical procedure. The dog was born with a natural bob-tail. Natural bob tails can be genetic as seen in Australian Shepherds for example or can be a non-genetic congenital defect that can occur in any breed.
