Is the number one way to decrease our dependence on foreign oil, to fully develop our own oil reserves?
Or do we continue to waste hundreds of millions of dollars on the dream of alternative energy scams...

Solyndra, Inc. was supposed to have showcased the effectiveness of the Obama administration’s stimulus and green jobs initiatives, but instead it has become the center of congressional attention for waste, fraud and abuse of such programs.
According to a Feb. 17 letter signed by Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton, Michigan Republican, and Oversight Subcommittee Chairman Cliff Stearns, Florida Republican, to Energy Secretary Steven Chu, the Fremont, Calif.-based solar panel manufacturer should never have received a $535 million loan guarantee from the stimulus.*
Why do that when we can pay Brazil 200b to drill for us in our own Gulf?
It is proven technology, and has been possible to make synthetic diesel, and gasoline from coal for almost 100 years now, but this isn't even a hindsight thought in anyones mind. Why not? America has a almost endless supply of coal. We have oil as well which legislation has locked up.
The price of oil is being artificially driven up through government policy to push the green agenda.
This will only kill our economy, as was demonstrated in 2007.
The majority of people who want the world off oil really want the world to go back in time to 1850.
They are the very same ones who want all the dams breached, and protest the 'not in my backyard' for any kind of power plant- wind/solar/nuclear, etc. If you look at all their actions it is clear to see they are against energy policy period.
They have no problem hopping on a commercial jet though which burns over 2,200 gallons of fuel per hour, and puts the CO2 in the atmosphere...exactly where they say they don't want it. Go figure!
The green agenda is nothing more than a means of gaining control and enacting Socialism.
