Why do energy saving bulbs make my light shades look green?
my lamp shades are made of a thin black material, they look black with standard 60w bulbs in. I've changed the bulbs to energy saving ones and now the shades looks green. anyone know why? I've tried stick type, spiral type, and globe type bulbs, they all make the shades look green.
It has to do with the light temperature which is basically the color. The standard 60w is probably much warmer than the CF so try finding a CF with a temperature below 4500k. Anything labeled as daylight is very high and probably what you have now. The lower temperature will look more orange like the standard bulb.
