Do people realize if we cut government programs, we will have to rebuild them at double the cost?
If we gut the Labor, Education, and Agriculture programs we will have to start those programs back up and rehire. What a waste. The best thing will be to slowly increase them and borrow money until the economy gets better. This is what will happen anyway after Congress works out the details.
Other vital programs like Health Care will need funding also. But will save money in the long run. Cap and Trade will be signed in a couple of years also. More long term savings.
People also forget that Green Energy will save the US money also. Solar and wind all the way down to good insulation will help us be Sustainable.
I still remember what happened to the black people in New Orleans in 2005 after Bush cut funding to FEMA
