If this is considered a free country, why do liberals think they can require us to buy something...?

against our own will? They want us to buy green energy, but I can guarantee you that they don't live off the grid with their solar panels and windmills. Do you think they should be the ones to set the pace and rather than "force us" to buy green energy, they should be just doing it and perhaps the rest of the world will follow? Take Kevin Costner for example. He and his brother saw a need and they are going out and filling it with their invention that separates water and oil. He, in my view point, isn't just sitting around waiting for government to say to him, "HEY! INVENT SOMETHING TO FIX THIS PROBLEM!" This is America, if government gets out of the way, we can do anything. No liberal policy is going to force us to do anything.

Yes, you are right! If government gets out of the way we can do anything. We can screw up oil drilling and pollute the Gulf of mexico and maybe the entire planet. If government gets out of the way we can run the entire economy into the ground so the tax payers have to bail out the big banks that were gambling with our money and our economy. If government gets out of the way we can import tainted food from China and rebuild New Orleans with tainted wall board. The fact is that business is good for just one thing. Making a profit. If government "stays out of the way" they will make that profit in any way possible up to and including destroying the environment and killing people. I guess you have already forgotten how the conservative agenda blew up in our face when we "left business alone" and allowed them to self-destruct. Government forced me to finance an ill-advised, counter productive war. It can require you to carry health insurance.
